MBTI ®
what?
- The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI ® ) is a test
to help people get to know themselves better through a report
of their behavioural preferences.
- This indicator was developed by Katharine Cook Briggs (1875-1968)
and Isabel Myers (1897-1980) who studied Jung’s ideas on
perception and judgment, and the attitudes for which these are
used in different types of people. Perception involves all manners
of coming to conclusions about what is perceived. If people perceive
things and draw conclusions differently, then it is only reasonable
they differ correspondingly in their reactions, interests, values,
motivations, skills and interests.
- In the business world the MBTI ® is by far the most-used
psychological test nowadays.
